What is Ferrari Aficionado?
Ferrari Aficionado is a website and YouTube Channel aimed to inform and educate interested individuals on Ferrari ownership. Although trying to go after all Ferrari fans looking to own a car or that are simply interested in "cost to own", we will be focusing on the second hand market ownership. Cost to own outside of financing payments of a brand new Ferrari is a null question as the cars come with a fantastic and comprehensive coverage. However once the coverage is over, our love doesn't necessarily die off for these cars.
We will be covering the current average used market price of the different Ferrari Models (and their variants) and diving into maintenance frequencies and component costs. We will also take a look at the statistics of Ferrari maintenance (likelihood of replacement in a given time frame or mileage span).
We aim to answer common questions regarding cost of parts, touch on labor costs, and perhaps suggest DIY projects for the mechanically inclined (the natural spanner) amongst you. We will also touch base on watch-outs for the different models, what to ask when purchasing, and what to look for depending on the mileage / price point you're looking at.

What will the website look like?
The Website will be structured in a fashion that goes through the each model as an all encompassing "Buyers Guide" touching base on the following topics. The intent is that topics 1-7 aid in picking out the right car for you within the model range you are interested in and topics 8-12 are what you need to know during the ownership period of that particular car:
- Model: Highlighting the specs with brief discussion.
- Advancements over the previous model (predecessor). What are the leaps forward and advantages / major differences and innovations, highlighting breakthroughs.
- Overall production numbers of the model and its variants.
- Options list: Showing options lists available on the car. (Importance behind this is differentiating between cars that seem similar on the surface but are at different price points).
- Current Market value per Mileage: This data will be updated 2X / year (Spring-Summer and Fall-Winter timeframes). This data will be historical and reflects what the current U.S market values are for the different models.
- Model recalls and known major / minor issues.
- General watch-outs (with specifications on watch-outs at different mileage and Price-Points: Thought process being you get what you pay for).
- Ownership habits: Driving, storage, and procedures.
- Maintenance: Time Based Maintenance (TBM) and Mileage Based Maintenance (MBM). What are the normal maintenance tasks and the costs associated with them.
- Abnormalities: What maintenance may be required due to time based / mileage based wear & tear that is not on a planned basis (i.e: breakdowns that occur) and the costs associated with said maintenance.
- Highly Uncommon abnormalities: Similar to topic #10 but diving deep into the highly unlikely yet not unheard of. This is mostly a curiosity exercise due to the human nature of asking "whats a bad breakdown?" or "whats the worst that can happen?"
- What typical ownership will most likely look like.
